Toy Soldiers Team History

The Toy Soldiers paintball team was founded in June 1990 by Brian Doucette & Ken Pederson. The name was thought up by Brian. The original team consisted of Brian Doucette, Ken Pederson, Sean LeBlanc & Pat O 'Brien. We started playing around the St. Cloud & Richmond areas in central Minnesota, using mostly SplatMaster's & the occasional Pump Gun. After a few months the team got it's line-up that lasted about 2 years. Brian, Ken, Sean & Tom & Terry Brack. Throughout 91-92 players like Eric Terwey, Chris Glocke, Tony Seelen, Trista Martinson & others also had roles in the team.

After 1992 with most of the team graduating it kind of slowed down. We played a few weekends during the school year & quite a bit the next summer. By 1994-95 Brian was the only original member left around, Chris & Ken had joined the Marines, Sean disappeared & Tom & Terry joined the Air Force. Over the next few years Brian played every now & then around the Brainerd area, Tony Seelen also got back into it at this time.

In 1998 with Brian living in Fargo-Moorhead for the past 6 years, he met up with Ryan Schafer & decided to Re-Form Toy Soldiers. In the summer of 2000 Toy Soldiers was reformed as a tournament team and competed in the Detroit Lakes NOUCTS event, we finished last but got 2 wins. It was a blast, and it was practice from then on!

The roster of the Toy Soldiers has gone through drastic changes since its revitalization. Many new players have been added to the roster to create a very powerful blend of youth and experience. To view the current Toy Soldiers roster, click here.
